Well, generally no. Depends on how heavy your flow is. You could use a super or super plus & probalby have no problem. Just change it after an hour if you have a heavy flow.  Or 2 hours if you don't.

I prefer Kotex tampons.

if it's absorbent enough it might soak up all the water and there you'll be standing at the bottom of the pool with no way out!!!!
