Is it okay for a girl to ask a guy to marry her? To me I think that's desperate, or is it?

It depends on how long you have been together and whether you think he will refuse or accept.

If you have been together long enough you should know his answer in advance.

for a long time girls could propose on the last day of February in a leap year or on sadie hawkins day in november but do what's right for you.

i plan to ask my boyfriend to marry me mostly because i don't want an engagement ring, so just do what feels right for you.

I'm just old-fashioned I guess but I say a woman should not propose to a man.  It's not that it's desperate, it's just that I feel moving a relationship along to the next level is part of the leadership role of a man. If he doesn't take the lead by proposing, then how much of a leader will he be as a husband.

Then again, he may not want to be a leader and wants his woman to take control. So, I guess it works for that kind of couple.

I just feel a woman is taking away a man's God-given duty and role of being the pursuer and it causes dysfunction in the relationship right from the start!

A guy must ask a girl ( woman ) to marry him.

A girl ( woman ) usually DEMANDS that a guy marry her.

They never ask.

Seems to work equally well either way.

If u feel that you have made all the judgement fare regarding the guys quality and standard of life which suits you. Then go ahead and propose him to marry you. There is nothing wrong in asking so and remember you are not the first person to do so. Dont think you are desperated. Good Luck.
