They have torn down their coasters and will be operating solely as a waterpark in 2008, due to the fact that they had 700,000 visitors last year compared to Cedar Point's 3.1 million.

  1. Yes, Geauga Lake was one of my favorite parks.

  2. no i wont miss it too much.  I luckely lived close enough to visit it many times in my life and i've been on all the coasters so i dont mind it not being there. I'll only miss one or two of the coasters. And Cedar Point is so close by that i can get my coaster fix there (it has better coasters anyway).  I'm glad they are keeping the waterpark open because i like their waterpark a lot.

  3. Yes, I will miss Geauga Lake.  It's a shame I only got to visit it once; it was such a nice park and didn't deserve to be closed down.

It will only be a matter of years before Cedar Fair decides to shut down the water park because they'll think it's taking away visitors from Soak City.  Plus, it's hard for water parks to survive in Northern Ohio.

  4. This makes me extremely sad, and I will miss it dearly. It is so sad to see a par with amazing atmosphere and equally good rides go to the dumps so quickly. Plus, lots of the roller coasters are being relocated to areas where they will lose their glory. Take Dominator, for example. It is being rebuilt at Kings Dominion over a parking lot, instead of a lake. The saddest thing is, when I went to Geagua Lake, I got dehydrated after an hour. I miss it already...
