Just curious. I saw a report on the news this morning that it will certainly reach that by the end of the summer.

  1. i wish i could but the only gas i really use is to go to work- AN HOUR AWAY! :(

  2. I wish I could, but I still need to get to work, etc. So I'll pay, whatever it costs.

Incidentally, I'm an American on vacation in Canada right now and I've paid between $5.50 and $6.00 everywhere I've filled up up here. So high prices are a reality, not just a future expectation for me.

  3. Unfortuantely i have no choice. i need my car to get around

  4. Defiantly yes.

I had to quit my old job already due to the gas prices being higher then my pay delivering stuff. I put more then 300 miles per day, and couldn't afford it. I can't imagine $5 per/gallon.

  5. Of course.

I've already switched to regular unleaded in my "premium only" cars (doesn't really matter) to cut costs.  I do more things closer to home like shopping online instead of driving to the stores, etc.

Hopefully I will get switched to a different project soon and can start taking public transportation.

And if Audi/VW come out with a hybrid diesel or hydrogen A3 or Golf, I may purchase one!

  6. by the time that happens I'll be in Chicago using public transportation and NOT driving anymore

  7. My husband and I are already contemplating moving, we comute now about 30 miles one way and we go in seperate directions so we cant even ride together.

  8. Easy answer Yes. I will drive less and when my car needs replacement I will go smaller and more fuel efficient. The difference between the $4 and $5 will only be an extra $30 a month with my present car. So I skip going out to dinner with my girlfriend once a month.

  9. I have a 98 mile one way commute.  I am looking VERY seriously at hybrid tech.

  10. I think I will still purchase gasoline but I will use much less.  I still have to go to work everyday since I am the one who earns the money in the house.  But I think I will go fewer places and be very wise with how I use it.  Lucky for me I drive a small car and I live close to work.
