I wouldn't, because my dad is a diesel mechanic for semi-trucks and he is the sole source of income for our family.

WELL ,,,, To the mechanics child .... I am a owner/op and since the fuel increase. I no longer take my truck to my mechanic and doing repairs ourselves, losing the little time I have at home. So you father's company is probably losing money already. So in a while his company will have to start laying off people, because more of us are doing this! More of us then you can even imagine are going to shut down. AND THAT IS NOT INCLUDING THE ONES THAT ARE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS EVERYDAY BECAUSE OF THIS.

It's about time.

Big oil keeps on racking in BIG BIG profits all at the expence of the America consumer. The truck drivers keep the goods we buy coming and they are feeling the brunt of all this. The independent driver is loosing everthing but do you think the government cares? Wait, when you go to the market and there is nothing to buy, don't blame the truck drivers, or when you pay through the nose for the things you like in life, don't blame the truck drivers, blame BIG OIL and the government for not stepping in and putting an end to this.

Billions in PROFIT for BIG OIL let them laugh now at our expence the REVOLUTION is coming and if the government won't step in and do something, Then let us, the little people, say enough is enough.

Remember the BOSTON TEA PARTY.

Thr truckers will never shut down. They've tried to many times. I'm a trucker. I'll never happen...........

My hubby is a truck driver.  We support it 100%.  That being said, we also feel that if the tankers just shut down for a few days no one would get any fuel.  Some one has to do something  though.

WE ARE TRUCK DRIVERS-- WE WILL SHUT DOWN IF IT WERE ORGANIZED AND WOULD BE EFFECTIVE. NO ONE IS ORGANIZED TO GET SOMETHING DONE AT THE SAME TIME. A SLOW DOWN WILL WORK BETTER THEN A SHUT DOWN.  MORE PEOPLE WILL NOTICE SLOW TRUCKS THEN NO TRUCKS

As long as truck drivers have bills to pay and living parts they will never shut down.I am a shool bus mechanic and had to get my cdl.Until I had to drive a bus in traffic I never knew how rough it can be on the highway.People pull in front you, and cut you off and they don't realize that there is a bunch of weight that has to be stopped when they do this.There are alot of drivers that dont respect trucks for the power that they hold.Drivers have to look out for themselves and other drivers at the same time, you have to be real responsible when on the road.My hat goes off to all of the truck trivers out there.
