  1. white diamonds are actually clear, while blue diamonds have a hint of blue to them

    The white diamonds are worth more, i think, because the clearer and less color there is, the higher the value. Blue may seem as a bit of an imperfection, but it's on preference

    whats bigger will cost more

    clear, white diamonds that have been properly cut will be the most brilliant and reflective of them all, (most shiny, best looking)

    so yeahˀ

  2. Diamonds, as gem stones absorb and refract color.  The individual compostion of diamonds make them refract different colors.  It just depends on the compound make of  the diamond, based on the amount of heat and pressure it developed in, under the earth.  Blue diamonds like pink or green even some that are called "camelion" (because they change color depending the light they are in) are much more rare than white diamonds.  The more rare, the more expensive.  The appearance of a colored diamond is much more spectacular than a white diamond, in my personal opinion.

  3. Blue diamonds are much more expensive than the white diamonds...

    Value and appearance are simply depend on diamond cutting, a seperate and special branch of lapidary art involving five basic steps in fashioning a diamond;

    1)Marking- is done after examining the rough diamond to decide how it should be cut to yield the greatest value. To make this decision, the shape of the rough diamond, and the number and  location of inperfection must be considered...The direction of the cleavage,or grain in the diamond crystal cause of its atomic structure..Diamond can be cleaved four direction parallel to the octahedron crystal faces...

    Other steps icludes; cleaving, sawing, girdling, faceting, which I am not going to eleborate further...lol...but a beautuful diamonds depends how good is the cutters..

    *The most popular cut is the brilliant cut (a round stone with 58 facets)

    * A single cut with 18 facets.

    * Fancy cut; Important fancy cuts include marquise,emerald,baquette,heart shape, pear shape, kite, and triangle...

    *The word mellee is used to describe smaller-brilliant cut diamonds as well as small diamonds used in embellishing mountings for bigger gems...

    World major diamond producers (*gem or **industrial porposes) are; *Angola , **Central African Republic, **Zaire, **Ghana, **Guinea, **Ivory Coast,**Congo,*Sierra Leone,*South Africa,*Southwest Africa, *Tanzania,* Brazil, *Guyana,*Venezuela and **Russia...

    Edit: Afghanistan/Pakistan? Likely possible. That's why Bin Laden is out there looking for it,..ha ha ha ha ha ha ...Heck mine as well consider him a blue diamond (how much is the head bounty?)... just joking..and I can see the thumbs down now--lol--...

  4. Diamonds have 4 Cs: cut, color, clarity and carat that determine the value. A clear colored stone will usually be worth more than a clear stone. The exception is brown diamonds. No one really wants those.

    You can find both types in the same location. Diamonds form at depths of greater than 150km and are brought to the surface by a type of volcanic eruption known as a kimberlite pipe. These mainly occur in South Africa, Canada, Russia, Austrailia with a few small scattered ones here and there.
