Will your car insurance go up if you get a 2 point ticket in Georgia?

I haven't had a ticket in over 5 years and I'm over 30yrs old. I was going 40mph in a 25mph zone.

  1. It depends on if the insurance company runs your MVR or not.  Some will run it at renewal time and others don't.  Your best bet is to wait and see.  If your rates go up then it might be a good time to shop around.  Here is a directory of local agents:  a good website

  2. it does in any state you live in,if you get a ticket it will go up a small amount,then they lower it back down again,unless your insurance company tells you anything different, id expect it to go up about 40 bucks more than what it is now mine did a few years ago,but now its back off and at regular price again,good luck.
