Will your direct download be cancelled once you lose your internet connection?

I was in the middle of a direct download when my connection got cut off. Now the download has stopped at 84% and it has not been moving for the past 10 minutes. Is it just momentarily stuck or has it been cancelled off already?

  1. yes, you will have to re- download it

  2. That depends on a couple of things. If you are using a download manager then your download may be able to be resumed. Some browsers (such as Mozilla Firefox) have download managers built in. Check near the download status in whatever program you are using for your download and look for a pause and/or resume button. If that is there you may be able to pick up where you left off.

Bear in mind that even if your software is capable of resuming the download it may not work; the server from which you are downloading may not allow you to resume or the data that you have downloaded may have been corrupted when you lost the connection.

  3. It was aborted once your lost your internet connection.

  4. Probably cancelled. You'll have to re-request from the server.(In other words, start all over again.)

  5. Most likely, it has been cancelled and you'll have to start over.

In the future, try using Firefox which has a built in download manager and will allow you to resume your download.

If that doesn't work, download FlashGet at http://www.download.com/FlashGet/3000-20...

which will do the same but with more features and its free.
