  1. Not if the largest (China) and fastest growing emitters (China, India and other developing countries) are allowed to adopt the same stupid habits pioneered by developed countries and grow their emissions unchecked.

The Arctic ice and Greenland have been melting at unprecedented rates, and glaciers in Antarctica are documented as melting 42X faster than the average rate from the past 4700 years... pretty stinking obvious, isn't it?

The sun has been shown to not be the cause, and carbon dioxide does heat Venus several hundred degrees hotter (hotter than Mercury)... again, pretty obvious that greenhouse gasses warm planets.

Past warming episodes in the paleontological record correspond with CO2 increases as well, so it happens on earth.  Man's CO2 contribution to the air is easily measured using carbon isotopes, and our temperature records from the past 120+ years show the resulting warming (as carbon levels rose).

The people arguing against it don't even have a consistent theory, let alone evidence to back one up... (we should collect a "denial rumor of the day" around here).  That's why the conversation turns to Al Gore so often.  There really isn't anything substantive for deniers to grab onto.

The whole denial farce is pretty well documented as an oil and coal industry PR campaign, modelled after the delaying tactics the tobacco industry used in the past.  Google "Steve Milloy" for some interesting connections:

"Steven J. Milloy is a columnist for Fox News and a paid advocate for Phillip Morris, ExxonMobil and other corporations."

"In January 2006, Paul D. Thacker reported in The New Republic that Milloy has received thousands of dollars in payments from the Phillip Morris company since the early nineties, and that NGOs controlled by Milloy have received large payments from ExxonMobil. A spokesperson for Fox News stated, 'Fox News was unaware of Milloy's connection with Philip Morris. Any affiliation he had should have been disclosed.'"

"Milloy has spent much of his life as a lobbyist for major corporations and trade organisations which have poisioning or polluting problems. He originally ran NEPI (National Environmental Policy Institute) which was founded by Republican Rep Don Ritter (who tried to get tobacco industry funding) using oil and gas industry funding. NEPI was dedicated to transforming both the EPA and the FDA, and challenging the cost of Superfund toxic cleanups by these large corporations."

"NEPI was also associated with the AQSC (Air Quality Standards Coalition) which was devoted to emasculating Clean Air laws. This organisation took up the cry of 'we need sound science' from the chemical industry as a way to counter claims of pollution..."

  2. No, so I'll just keep pouring motor oil into the sewers, painkillers. blood thinners, hormone pills and some nice cancer causing chemicals into the toilet as it makes your drinking water tastier and while I'm at it continue burning all my garbage and toxic plastic and cause a few forest fires too because all those particulates which settle into your lungs give you excuses to suck on steroid puffers for the rest of your life while your lungs close up and choke you to death.

But no, nothing has any impact on climate change whatsoever. It's all mother nature.  I like 3 eyed fish mercury frying my brain, and chewy tumours in my steaks.

Of course it's not man-made it's all just nature at it's finest hour carrying on as it has for millions of years with no interference whatsoever from mankind or any other species.

For all you guys above....some beautiful pictures of nature.  Hope you enjoy the scenery, you will be seeing much more of it in future if you are our future.
