Only if you are drunk at the time.  Then it would be for driving while under the influence, not beatin' a red light in and of itself.  Happy trails.

Sounds more like you did not beat the red light, but drove through it and got a ticket.

I have never noticed my insurance going up for minor speeding tickets, but that is not as dangerous as running red lights.  It might just be that you do not get the good driver renewal discount.  Or if that is the only thing on your record, it might only affect rates if shopping for new insurance.
