William Gallas claims Arsene Wenger made a mistake by not keeping him at Arsenal – Premier League News
Tottenham Hotspur defender and former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/William-Gallas-c36874 has gone on to state that Arsene Wenger made a serious mistake, by not keeping hold of the defender.
The thirty three year old defender, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea, was allowed to leave the Emirates last season. However, after failing to agree on personal terms over an extension, the defender went on to join the team’s arch rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.
Now, following the rather disastrous ending to Arsenal’s season, the defender blames Wenger’s inability to negotiate terms with the player, which would have kept the team’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 up to the mark, via the experience that Gallas could offer.
When talking about his departure from the Emirates, Gallas is quoted to have said: “I left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 because we could not agree on a financial level” “
"They decided to not make the effort to keep me, it is a choice I respect, and they respected the fact I didn’t want the wages they proposed."
“Did Arsene Wenger make a mistake in not keeping me? He made a choice, but indeed I believe he made a mistake.
“It is too easy to say all the Arsenal problems came from William Gallas.”
From the looks of things, Gallas seems to be taking a shot at Arsenal, only, in doing so, he has also managed to make himself look rather foolish.
It is one thing for a player to go on and assess the problems that his former team is happening, however, going on to claim that all of Arsenal’s problem’s came due to the departure of Gallas, is another story, altogether.
Gallas has claimed that he had a set course/plan, which he followed when he was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 of Arsenal, however, that plan didn’t really change much for the Gunners. Even with Gallas in the squad, the team went on to end their season without a trophy, hence, what we can say assuredly, is that Gallas is just trying to be the centre of attention, after having spent far too much time on the sidelines.
Nonetheless, with that being said, we can take some positives for Gallas’s words. The player highlighted Arsenal’s defensive problems and that is something, Arsene Wenger needs to address over the course of the coming weeks.
Arsenal’s defence has let the team down once again this season and should the manager not bring in any positive reinforcements in the summers, then Arsenal might as well give up hope to landing any silverware, this coming season – once again.
