William Vainqueur closes in on move to Dijon FCO while the club set to give Konno a trial – Ligue 1 news
According to reports in France, former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 Under-21 international Victor Vainqueur is set for a move to newly-promoted French Ligue 1 side Dijon FC. The 22-year-old midfielder is currently under contract at Ligue 2 side FC Nantes but has been keen on a move away from La Beaujoire-Louis Fonteneau for a a long time.
For the past two seasons, the Neuilly-sur-Marne-born midfielder has been a key element of the Nantes side. However, the club’s failure to win back promotion to French Ligue 1 has played a major role in the youngster’s desire to move away from the Pays de la Loire-based club.
Vainqueur renewed his contract with Les Canaris in September 2009 which would keep him at the Loire-Atlantique club until the summer of 2013. However, DFCO are willing to go an extra mile for the youngster’s services.
A fee in the region of 3 million Euros is believed to be enough to attain the services of the talented midfielder who has made 90 appearances for Nantes since making his debut for the club as a teenager in 2006.
Meanwhile, Dijon have also confirmed the news that Japanese international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yasuyuki-Konno-c37298 is set for a trial at the club. The Blue Samurais defender was linked with a move to France earlier this month and the new boys of Ligue 1 are ready to give the 28-year-old a trial before they consider handing him a permanent deal.
Konno is currently under contract at J-League club F.C Tokyo for whom he has made 221 appearances and has scored 32 goals. The Japanese international’s trial will begin on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 and if things work out well and he impresses the coaching staff, Konno is expected to be given a long term contract with the club.
The Japanese international has made 47 appearances for the Asian giants and his experience of playing at the top level in Asian football would definitely help Dijon FCO a lot in terms of keeping their status as a Ligue 1 outfit by the end of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign.
