Williams Sisters warm-up for the Fed Cup tie against Belarus – Tennis News

Drama queen, Venus Williams, is fighting her disease very well and training rigorously on courts to make a most-awaited comeback to the tennis courts. Serena Williams was interviewed about her sister’s progress in recovering from
Sjogren's syndrome. “She's coming along awesome. She's doing really well," said Serena Williams, who played her elder sister in an exhibition match in Colombia in November. She is planning to make a comeback in February during the Fed Cup tie against the Belarusian
squad lead by the newly ranked world number one, Victoria Azarenka.
The US team of Fed Cup consists of Christina McHale, Liezel Huber (doubles world number one) and Sloane Stephens. Both Williams will accompany the rest of the three participants to battle against the Belarusian squad. Serena will
make a comeback to the Fed Cup squad after a delay of almost 5 years; last time she played was in the year 2007.
Talking about her comeback with her sister in the Fed Cup, she said, “We played on the same team a few times. We always have a blast. We always make the best of everything. We really enjoy every moment together because we don't
sometimes get to spend a lot of time together. It's something that we really enjoy."
Williams was set to make a comeback at the season-opener, ASB Classic tournament in Auckland but her recovery was slower than expected and she had to pull out at the last moment creating a lot of hype as well. She was ruled out
of the year’s first Grand Slam tournament, the Australian Open, for the same reason that frustrated her fans a lot. However, Venus apologized to all her fans who bought tickets to witness her action. The tournament organizers had to find an immediate replacement
for the former world number one and were also a bit annoyed on the last-moment withdrawal of Venus from the tournament.
Serena is not terrorized by the new status achieved the Belarusian world number one, Azarenka and she bluntly proclaimed that no matter what Azarenka has achieved in the recent past, it will have no effect on the courts. She stated,
“I've played a lot of No 1's.” This message clearly sets up a brilliant tie later this month that will feature the former world number one, Serena Williams, and the reigning world number one, Victoria Azarenka. Williams’s fans are eagerly waiting for this
contest to see their drama queen once again in action.
