Williams aim to attain competitive results in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Williams are looking forward to attain competitive results in the 2013 Formula 1 season after failing to score good points in this season.
Pastor Maldonado of the Grove based team scored an incredible win in the Spanish Grand Prix after claiming his first ever pole position. However, other than that, he has not been able to achieve much for his team and has faced a lot of criticism over his
aggressive driving style.
On the other hand, his teammate, Bruno Senna has also faced immense difficulties in this season and has failed to attain desired results for his team.
It will be important to note that the British team has replaced Senna with Valtteri Bottas who has been their reserve driver until now and will drive alongside Maldonado in the next season, while the future of the Brazilian driver in the sport is still uncertain.
Team owner, Sir Frank Williams has expressed that they are not feeling upset over their results in this season and are eying to perform well in the next year.
Furthermore, he admired his team's efforts for making the substantial advancement in the car in this year. Additionally, he said that they are targeting to improve their development process in the coming year in order to secure podium finishes and to score
points with consistency.
“Making predictions is always dangerous, particularly given the unpredictable nature of the 2012 season. Nevertheless, we will be looking to build on 2012 and produce a car that can consistently finish in the points at a wide range of circuits and challenge
for podiums as well,” Williams said.
In addition, he said that he has full faith in their next year’s driver line-up which is capable enough of challenging their rivals.
“Both drivers [Maldonado and Bottas] are very strong in their own right and I’m excited about what they can achieve next year. Pastor has shown this season that he is one of the fastest drivers in Formula One and has put in some stellar qualifying performances,”
he said.
It will be thrilling to see how Williams perform in the next season and whether they will be able to achieve their goals or not.
