Williams Racing is not happy with the way the 2010 Formula One season ended for the team. The legendry team has a long history of glory and triumph. The team with a legacy of winning titles and championships believes
that it can stand at a better place in the Constructors' standings than it did this season.
This year saw two very good drivers racing with the team, Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenberg, yet the team did not do very well. With its 69 points it stands at 6th place diffidently, while a comparatively new team,
Force India holds 7th place in the charts. On the other hand, Renault precedes it in 5th place and has an advantage of 94 points over Williams.
In its glory days, the very renowned team bagged nine Constructors' Championships, and has seven Drivers' Championships to its name. The most successful team of its time further won 113 races. However, looking at the current situation
the founder of the team, Sir Frank Williams doesn’t seem proud at all.
While talking to the media earlier today, Sir Williams said, "I wouldn't say I'm satisfied [with sixth] and that's not where we want to be. We didn't provide ourselves with a competitive enough racing car and when you do that,
you pay the price. Most drivers get the maximum out of the car, almost without exception, and if your car's not up the field it usually means it's not good enough to a certain extent.”
The icon of the racing world further added that he hopes to see a far better 2011 season. He said that with the right drivers and an improved chassis the team can bring forth the desired results. He concluded saying, "The reason
for this lies mainly with the chassis because we're all on the same tyres. We have a very competitive Cosworth engine that is capable of mixing it with the best. The chassis was a step forward from the previous year's car and better in one or two smallish
areas but not sufficiently quicker."
So far, the team has confirmed retaining the Formula One veteran, Barrichello for next season while Hulkenberg has already lost his place in the team. Williams is expected to give the final drivers line-up for the 2011 season in
a week’s time.
