Williams decide not to comment on drivers’ line-up for the moment – Formula 1 news
Formula 1 team Williams have decided not to comment about the whole drivers’ line-up issue for the moment.
Meanwhile, Lotus Renault GP are looking for a teammate for Vitaly Petrov and teams like Force India and Toro Rosso are also in search of good potential drivers.
According to some reports, it has been revealed that Renault will try their best to finalise their drivers’ line-up for 2012 season until October 2011 which is quite surprising as the team has not been able to come up with a legitimate deal with their former
driver Robert Kubica.
The main reason for that is that since Kubica might not be the same anymore. Medically, driving once again in Formula 1 is going to be quite difficult for him and he might not return to the sport at all.
“One can imagine that by mid October Kubica will not be able to say definitively whether he is race-ready for 2012. By imposing a strict deadline, has the 26 year old from Krakow (Kubica) been rejected already?” wondered Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport.
However, there are rumours once again that Kimi Raikkonen also might be interested in signing a deal with one of the teams which is a highly doubtful report since the Finn himself stated clearly that he is not willing to drive in the sport anytime soon.
“I am afraid we have no comment to make on this subject,” Williams’ spokeswoman Claire Williams said when asked about a confirmation regarding rumours that Adrian Sutil might join the team.
For 2012, the top running teams have confirmed their drivers’ line-ups though keeping in mind that there are still rumours that Jenson Button might decide to join Ferrari in 2013 or maybe earlier.
Other than that, the teams from their sides have officially confirmed that they will stick to their drivers’ line-up for at least another year but after the 2012 Formula 1 season, some major changes in the top running teams will take place.
