Williams’ driver Bruno Senna receives Lorenzo Bandini Trophy – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Bruno Senna has received the Trofeo Lorenzo Bandini Trophy in Brisighella near Bologna, Italy for his commitment and dedication towards autosport.
Senna said that he is very much pleased to receive the Bandini Trophy while he expressed his gratitude towards the people of Brisighella for their hospitality.
Moreover, he is feeling privileged and honoured that he has been selected for such an esteemed award. In addition, he said that he is going to try his best to come up to the expectations of his fans and is aiming to achieve more in his career in the future so as to stand along the iconic drivers. Furthermore, he said that he is thankful to his team for all their support.
“We had a really sunny day and I felt extremely welcomed here by people in Brisighella,” Senna said. “The event was great success with many of my Italian fan club also coming along which was great to see. The town really came alive. I have to thank everyone at Trofeo Lorenzo Bandini and all people involved in organising event. It's a huge honour to be chosen to receive such prestigious award. I'm really happy I was able to be here to see it all come together and thank you again to everyone for letting me be part of this special event.”
At present, the Brazilian driver is standing at 15th place in the drivers’ championship with 18 points. Additionally, he is just 1 point ahead of Nico Hulkenberg of Force India and 3 points behind Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber.
He secured an impressive 6th place finish in the second race held at Sepang International Circuit in Sakhir after taking a start from 13th grid slot which is his best performance in the season so far. Later, in the third race, he came 7th after setting off from 14th place in the grid.
Besides, he has only been able to score 4 points in the last five grands prix. Nevertheless, he is confidently looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming races so as to make his position stronger in this year’s championship fight.
