Williams’ driver Rubens Barrichello says Brazil will not be his farewell race – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Rubens Barrichello has said that the 2011 Brazilian Grand Prix will not be his farewell race.
Barrichello added that he is positive for the upcoming Brazilian race at the moment and that he is not going to say goodbye to his viewers.
The Brazilian driver is going to take part in the next race at his homeland on November 27, at the Sao Paulo racetrack in Brazil.
The team driver is still not confirmed for the 2012 F1 season. Williams will decide their 2012 drivers’ line-up at the end of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Talking to reporters, Barrichello commented, “It is almost like I deserve to be there. I am not doing this because of the money, I am not doing this because I want to be just one more in F1, I want to do this because I am so competitive and I deserve to
be here, after 20 years [in F1] with 40 years of age I want to be there and I am working my balls off to make that happen.”
He went on to mention, “That was a worse situation, so I am okay to go there once again and try to be there for 2012.”
The 39-year-old driver has failed to finish the race in the top three positions throughout the ongoing season so far for the team.
The 2011 Brazilian Grand Prix will be the 326th grand prix of his career in Formula 1.
In the 2011 Abu Dhabi race weekend, Barrichello tried his best to cover the gap from top ten drivers. After starting the race from the back of the field, he came at the 12th position in the final race classifications after running
at the Yas Marina Circuit.
The team was pleased with getting the better results from their driver Barrichello at the end of the Abu Dhabi race.
After completing 18 rounds of the season until now, Williams’ driver Barrichello is placed at the 17th position behind Sauber’s Sergio Perez with four points in the 2011 drivers’ standings.
Let’s see how he manages his race in Brazil at the Sao Paulo racetrack this weekend following his better results in the 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
