Williams expecting better results in upcoming Belgium Grand Prix with new upgrades – Formula 1 news
Formula 1 Williams team is expecting better results in the upcoming Belgium Grand Prix, which will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Spa-Francorchamps.
The team updated the media that they will bring some new upgrades in Belgium next weekend. They are hopeful that the new parts in their FW33 car will be helpful to both of the drivers and they can score points during the race as well.
Williams’ driver Rubens Barrichello said that he is confident they can score points at the Spa circuit, as they are going over there with some new upgrades.
Apart from that, the Brazilian mentioned that he is very excited, as he will race on one of the special tracks in the sport.
The 39-year-old driver commented, “I love Spa-Francorchamps; the track is very special. We are going to have a new aero package for this race that I hope will give us a better chance to fight for points. It is a real drivers' circuit with no time to breathe
during a lap.”
Barrichello further said that the team is expecting their better results in the Belgium Grand Prix, as they made some changes in their package for the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season. The team driver added that he is hopeful they can fight for points
with their more developed car at the Spa circuit this weekend.
On the other hand, Williams’ technical director Sam Michael stated that they planned to bring some developments in their 2011 F1 car for the last eight rounds of the ongoing season. He added that the team will test new rear wing and some diffuser modifications
in their car during the Friday Free Practice sessions, which will be held on August 26, 2011.
Michael stated, “We will bring new rear wings which feature a different drag level and some diffuser modifications to evaluate during practice.”
The team drivers Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado are still unable to score points in their races since the 2011 European Grand Prix.
Let’s see how both of them manage their races in the last stages of the ongoing season with new upgrades.
