Williams may replace Bruno Senna with Valtteri Bottas in 2013 – Formula 1
Williams’ driver, Bruno Senna’s race seat seems uncertain in his team as there are chances that he may be replaced by Valtteri Bottas, who is currently the reserve driver in the British squad, in 2013.
Senna has not been able to deliver convincing performance in the current season so far and has struggled in most of the races. Although, he has received full support from his team in each and every aspect, however, he has failed to show the expected level
of performance.
On the other hand, the test driver of the Grove based team, Bottas who has replaced the Brazilian driver in many free practice sessions during the ongoing season has impressed everyone with his amazing pace. Moreover, he has also taken part in the Young
Driver Test and has surprised his team with his incredible performance.
It is to be noted that the executive director of Williams, Toto Wolff said that they have not yet finalised their next year’s driver line-up and still need some more time to think over it. Furthermore, he insisted that they may replace Senna or his teammate,
Pastor Maldonado with the Finn in the next season.
However, the team principal of Williams, Frank Williams appears to be inclined towards keeping the Venezuelan driver who has scored an inspiring victory in the Spanish Grand Prix after claiming his first ever pole position.
Nonetheless, Williams said that the 28-year-old is a good racing driver and they are going to support him in the remainder of the season.
“Bruno is very intelligent and very sensitive and that means he is putting a lot of pressure on himself. Whether it is name or not, I don't know,” he said. “Every racing driver in F1 is very competitive and Bruno is trying to fight the fact that he hasn't
had huge racing education, as family didn't want him to go racing. But he has made his way into F1, which means that he is good.”
“He has an extremely fast team-mate and he needs to follow his path. He is pushing hard and we are trying to support him as best we can,” he added.
Let’s see whether Senna will be able to continue with the British team in the coming season or not.
