Anzhi Makhachkala newbie, Willian, has denied that his move from the Ukrainian Premier League club was motivated by money.
The mega rich Dagestani club announced the signing of the Brazilian international earlier this week after confirming that the 24-year-old signed a three-year contract at Dynamo stadium (Makhachkala).
Anzhi, who have earlier signed players like Samuel Eto’o and Lassana Diarra from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and Real Madrid respectively, reportedly paid a staggering 35 million Euros figure to acquire the services of Shakhtar’s prized asset.
There is little arguing to the statement that the talismanic winger widely impressed in Shakhtar’s 3-2 defeat in the UEFA Champions League’s group stage match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC at Stamford Bridge.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Willian-c36898 joined the Makhachkala-based club after refusing to join Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea as they reportedly were offering him less money as compared to the mega rich Russian outfit.
Since then, media along with some senior football analysts have made negative comments about the player.
However, the player has denied such allegations after saying that he preferred to make a move to the Russian championship in order to gain a new experience in an unfamiliar league and to play alongside star figures such as Samuel
Eto’o.
The former Corinthian player made these comments after making a substitute appearance for his new club in a 2-2 friendly draw against Dynamo Kyiv at home.
“It is not true that I am tempted by big money offer, not at all. I earned enough at Shakhtar. I think it was the right time to make a change after spending five and a half years at Donetsk.”
“I believe that the level of the Russian championship is higher than in Ukraine. It's more intense and there are more skilled performers here. I hope I will find common ground on the field with players such as Eto'o.” The UEFA
Cup winner was quoted as saying.
In the championship of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991, Willian will play under the number 10 and in the UEFA Europa League - at number 8.
