Willl someone walk me through(every little detail) about going from Lima to Machu Picchu?

I know I should take a plane(Lan.com) to Cusco and then take a train and then a bus to Machu Picchu. But what about specifics, i.e. what times do these things leave(flights, trains, etc.) costs, stay in Machu Picchu or Cusco! Help! Is this going to be complicated-especially since everyone will speak Spanish?

  1. This won't be complicated at all. There are plenty of english speaking tourist agencies and guides in Peru. Take a plane to Cusco, and find an agency there that can book your tickets for you. Or find an agency online that can book all your tickets in advance. You don't want to get there and find out you can't go because the trains/buses/etc are booked.

  2. I just got back from Machu Picchu and would agree that doing the Inca Trail was the highlight of the trip much more than the ruins themselves.  Of course, you need to be able to hike long distances and spend four days doing it, but if its possible, I'd definitely recommend doing this approach instead of just the train.

I did the whole trick with Active South America, so they took care of coordinating with the guide company.

  3. dear friend you need to contact a tour operator to organize all your program are better is you have connection with a expert they will provide the necessary information try to send all your questions to this company

    www.epuertotravelperu.com

i have a friend in Oregon and Miami to use the services are very serious and friendly  .

i recommended to contact first a Tour operator the will provide programs included domestic airline tickets, hotels  and tours

this people speak English and they help you to answer all your questions

regards and have a nice time in Peru

  4. I will if you pay for my travels ;)
