What's a good soprano or mezzo soprano song to sing for my Willy Wonka Jr. audition? It should be Broadway and upbeat! Thanx!

  1. TRY MY NEW PHILOSOPHY FROM YOURE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN

I ALSO LOVE LOVE LOVE TAYLOR THE LATTE BOY BY KRISTEN CHENOWITH OMG I USE IT FOR ALL MY AUDITIONS GREAT ACTING SONG U CAN WATCH IT ON YOUTUBE AND U CAN BUY THE SONG ON ITUNES AND U CAN BUY THE SHEET MUSIC AT MUSICNOTES.COM AND ITS NOT THAT UPBEAT BUT I LOVE IT AND U SHOULD CHECK IT OUT. LOL!

I AM AUDITIONING FOR THAT IN THE WINTER

IT WOULD ALSO HELP IF U PUT WHAT PART U R AUDITIONING FOR ON HERE

  2. "My New Philosophy" has a lot of talking in it, so while it's a great song, there are better audition pieces out there.

And "Taylor the Latte Boy" is also a fabulous song, but not from a musical, so I don't recommend it.

I'm not familiar with the show, but I can tell you that for the range you suggested, I would recommend maybe "Don't Rain on My Parade" if you can belt; "Find Your Grail" from Spamalot; "When You Got It, Flaunt It" from The Producers; or something from My Fair Lady.  It sounds like it's for a high school/local theatre, so they probably won't be too picky.  Just sing whatever you sing best and you'll be fine.

    Break a leg!
