Wily Fox promises victory in the Betfred “When Both Teams Score” Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at Uttoxeter
The Class 4 Betfred “When Both Teams Score” Novices’ Handicap Hurdle is to get staged at Uttoxeter over two miles on Saturday, 17th March. The lineup of fourteen four-year-olds will contest for the £3, 249 purse.
Among those assembled for the race today, the brightest with the highest chances of grabbing onto the victory today is Wily Fox, Observatory’s five-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Kamkova.
Wily Fox has only progressed through the three starts that he has made during the new season. He rattled off with a fourth position in the seasonal debut and very steadily came up to scoring the second position in the recent start.
He was third behind the 2/1 favourite runner up, All Annalena, who was adrift by twenty-four lengths from the winner, San Telm, in the New Year’s Day Maiden Hurdle on 1st January at Fakenham over two miles.
Wily Fox’s next outing was in the Marsh Green Novices’ Hurdle on 19th January at Lingfield over two miles and half a furlong. The race was taken over by the 30/100 favourite, Poole Master while settling into the runner up’s position was Royal
Commission.
Wily Fox concluded the race third on the field of twelve.
Getting the ranking higher in each of the race he was part of, Wily Fox finally came as close to the victory as one can when finishing right next to the winner.
On 23rd February, Wily Fox was the second entry to make it on the other end of the wire in the Domenico Adorno 85th Birthday Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon over two miles and half a furlong.
The 13/8 favourite, Dreambrook Lady was the winner of the race while coming at terms with the third place was Theodore Lamb.
Wily Fox has not been entered as the favourite in any of the races that he has taken chances in ever since the new season shot off but today he has the highest probabilities of striking the seasonal debut victory but that too coupled with his being the undisputed
favourite.
The lineup is tricky in a sense that quite a few entires been placed in the recent ventures they settled but Wily Fox has the distance and a progressive experience as his strengths.
