The former Dutch International believes that the Eindhoven giants lack the desire to become Dutch champions and insists that they are out of contention after 2-0 loss to Ajax.
Wim van Hanegem, the former Dutch International, has insisted that the Boeren are now out of the Eredivisie title race following their 2-0 loss at the hands of Ajax Amsterdam at Amsterdam Arena on Sunday, March 25.
The Dutch legend has also asserted that the Eindhoven giants lack the desire to lift the title at the end of the season.
Occupying the fourth spot in the league table, PSV are five points behind the Eredivisie leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar. Although there are still seven matches left to play in the season, the 68-year-old Dutchman believes that the Boeren will not be able to catch up
with the leaders.
“It's fair to say that they are out of the title race now. They simply lack the true desire to win the league title. They only have themselves to blame. I enjoy seeing a strong PSV, but their season is pretty much over. And I can only notice that's pretty
early with seven more games to go”, Van Hanegem was quoted as saying to media.
The former Dutch central midfielder went on to state that the managerial change has not done any good to PSV, adding that they played the same way like they used to under the leadership of Fred Rutten.

PSV’s hopes of becoming Dutch champions at the end of the 2011/12 campaign remain only a mathematical possibility.
