  1. They always used to be sold on after the event finishes, although 'used' they are still good enough for casual players.

  2. Some are possibly being given to local schools - the website just says

"Slazenger will supply 52,000 balls for this year's tournament, each of which will be tested for weight, bounce and compression, ensuring the world's greatest tennis tournament retains the ultimate ball technology."

With 52,000 balls being there, i guess they just recycle them...

  3. Tennis players are thieves they have them away. Look at the towels apparently Wimbledon loses £60,000 a year to towel theft. I blame Andy Murray.....

  4. The Wombles come and take them away

  5. They go to a super-secret, underground, gated, sniper monitored, closed caption camera watched, bio-metrically finger scanned, secure, insecure, ball yard where they are properly washed, polished, shaved, re-sewn, re-inflated, stretched, shrunken, dried, fried, grilled, seasoned, tanned, groped, refurbished, liquified, molecularly tested, mentally challenged, thrown about, licked, inspected, artistically painted, tattooed, pierced, botoxed, chemically altered (slightly), infused, defused, refused, insulted, violated, regurgitated, inebriated, dipped in chocolate fondue, melted, cooked, garnished, dated, and sold in bulk quantities to naive, unsuspecting tourists for top prices.

  6. They are sold to tennis clubs and elsewhere. They used to be quite prized as the wear on them was equivalent to playing about 5 minutes on a hard court. I believe that they use something like 56000 balls in the fortnight.
