Wimbledon 2010; Is Andy Murray this year’s winner?
His compatriot players have disappeared into the darkness but the British top ranked tennis sensation, Andy Murray was aware of the fact that a tour back to his county home would confirm his come back to SW19 for the next round at the least.
While the rest of the Brit players complain about the pressure as they fall to baffle, Murray takes on the Grand Slam tournament as some kind of epinephrine that can perk up the entire body as well as the brain which has not been completely operating since his loss to the tennis master at the Australian Open tournament, Roger Federer.
“I simply feel that the championship has provided me something to thoroughly concentrate on”, Murray explained after beating Jan Hajek. He attempted to actually focus on the feeling of being on top of the talk from the home side. He welcomed the aspirations as well as the flimflam.
The 23 years old Murray, said that “it might sense tacky but it should be an honour to be on the court while taking that entire burden on your shoulders and be edgy and have that anticipations”. It seems that Murray has taken all that pressure positively and it has worked well so far for the Brit as he is through to the third round of Wimbledon as well. What is more important is the fact that Murray is enjoying his recent performances at Wimbledon and hopefully he will continue with his winning momentum for the rest of the Tournament as well.
Andy Murray also realized the importance of the peculiar moment when Queen Elizabeth made a visit at Wimbledon after a period of thirty three years. Being spent quite a time at the All England Club over the last few years, Murray rightly decided to bow the Queen. And undoubtedly, if a British player is to glory the Wimbledon trophy, then it has to be one name only which is Andy Murray. There is no other Brit competitor for sure.
The ranked no. 4 in the world, Murray in his clash with Jarkko Nieminen won it with a 6-3 6-4 6-2 match set. Murray from the start of the match manage to gain a lead, and he never turned down for the rest of the game, thus cruised easily towards the victory in the end. What is even more astonishing is the fact that the Brit unlike his fellow players did not feel awkward in the company of Queen. He successfully managed to focus on the court during the entire match.
With such promising performances, the Scot is really looking forward to the rest of the Tournament with high hopes of taking the trophy back home. There is no doubt about the fact that his performances over the years have gradually progressed at Wimbledon. The only factor Murray has to keep in mind is to remain focused all through his matches against every single opponent.
However, in spite of performing well even in Australian, the right handed player has not grabbed a single title this year which is an alarming fact for a player with such good form and shape.
Nevertheless, his victory against Jarkko Nieminen has given him a lot of confidence for sure. Probably impressed by the presence of Queen Elizabeth, the very first serve of the Scot was unconquerable, with a total of 17 aces and thus earned a variety of cheesy points.
Nieminen on the other hand gave a very grim trial and regardless of having a subdued serve as per the ATP standards, the ground hits were not powerful enough to give a tough fight to Murray.
Although, Murray did not lack the confidence before reaching SW19, however, there is no doubt about the fact that two consecutive successes have revived his faith. The Scot was emblematic in almost each of the department and showed contained anger where required along with his stunning serves.
Murray is likely to take the pressure even for the rest of the tournament to work as an accelerator that will further polish his game. He has already marked his name in the history of Wimbledon with moments of tragedy and excitement. There was an early exit of Raked Stephaney at the brutal hands of Andy Murray in the season 2005, the hammering of Andy Ruddick back to 2006, the raging return in the year 2008 against Richard Racquet as well as the dramatic clash against Stanislaw Waurika in the previous season.
In the light of his presence performances at Wimbledon along with his previous records, will the British Number One tennis ace, Andy Murray succeed in meeting up the Brit’s expectations with a Wimbledon title this season?
