Wimbledon again? The Women?

So the first day has passed relatively quietly, touch wood!!!

Male player sound better than female player.  Female player sometimes are really annoying. I turn off the volume when Williams sisters are playing with Sharapova.  I can't concentrate on the match.  No offensive here but it's true.

I think it's just a way of letting out energy, I've heard the guys do it too . . . just not as loud

I don't necessarily see the screaming as being a bad sport. However I will agree it does gets annoying at times, especially when the player begins to do it on the first point, of the first game of the first set. I mean, the match has just started. There is really no need to be screaming at the top of your lungs that soon.

And besides the men are guilty of it as well. So this should not just be about the women.

So many people are always making remarks about the women grunting. The men do it too and nobody complains.

Women grunt. To hit the ball as hard as they do they have to somehow release the pressure they build up before they hit the ball.

Get over it. If you really can't enjoy a match because the players are making a sound then you're not a very good fan.

It's bad enough on television, when you can turn the sound down.

Believe me, it's much worse when you're actually in the audience.

grunting or screaming is not an indication of bad sportsmanship.. however chucking your racquet at the umpires head is .

i tend to scream myself while playing!!!! so ive no problem with it!!
