Rafael Nadal won men's singles - it was a very tough match for him to win though. He defeated Roger Federer in a very close match that lasted 4hours 48 minutes.

The score was 6 - 4, 6 - 4, 6 - 7, 6 - 7, 9 - 7. (There is no tiebreaker played in the fifth set).

Venus Williams won against her sister Serena in straight sets: 7 - 5, 6 - 4.

Both matches were great and all the players were great sports. The men's was very tense - you missed out on a great match, although some Federer fans (including myself) were very sad at the end of it. He missed out on his 6th victory there and didn't succeed in breaking Borg's record. Nadal had two match points earlier on the match which he lost, and Federer won 2 sets after being 2 - 0 down. It was a very close match, anyone could have won it.
