In Windows XP, when deleting a shortcut to a program, how do I disable the annoying "Deleting the shortcut to ___________ only removes the icon. It does not uninstall the program. If you want to uninstall the program, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel." dialog box?

It's a rather pointless dialog anyone who's used XP for more than a few months. How do I get rid of it?

  1. Yes, it is pointless. No, you can't get rid of just that warning. You can, however, disable _all_ warnings:

    * Go to Recycle Bin.

    * Go up a level so you can right click on Properties.

    * Uncheck "Display delete confirmation dialog"

    You'll now never be warned about deleting anything at any point.
