Question:

Winchester Model 70 Stealth 11?

Hi

I have been using my Stealth .308 for informal target shooting for some months now but I am getting a bit tired of its heavy trigger.

I have read that the factory triggers are adjustable is this true and if so is it an easy job or should it be left to a gunsmith?

Also is it worth considering a Timney or Jewell trigger and which one would be the better choice in my rifle?

Does anybody know just out of interest how heavy Winchester used to set the Stealth 11 triggers before leaving the factory?

Thankyou Midge.

  1. The factory triggers are indeed adjustable. In order to know that you have not set it at too light a breaking weight you will need a scale. To get as nice a feel as the Jewell replacement you will need honing stone(s). By the time you buy all that you can spend the same or less and have a gunsmith adjust the trigger for you.
