What direction does the wind generally flow in Scotland? From where to where?

  2. In Scotland, the prevailing winds will be south westerly in the summer and north easterly in the winter.

    The reason is that the polar front moves southward in the winter as the high pressure over the north pole increases in size.

    The normal counter-clockwise rotation of air masses around low pressures in the northern hemisphere is what creates the prevailing wind directions at our latitudes (I live in south Norway).
