Wind Star chasing first victory at Ffos Las in IWEC Electrical Handicap
Wind Star will be looking to continue his good run of form this year, by winning the IWEC Electrical Handicap at Ffos Las in England on Monday, August 13, 2012. He has never won any event at this venue, but has a solid chance of improving that record.
The bookmakers believe that Croeso Mawr will be stronger in the race, despite the fact that she has got a poor strike rate, winning just one race in her career. She will have to be at her absolute best in order to challenge someone like, Wind Star, who has
got a lot of experience and has been delivering decent results in the ongoing season.
The seasoned runner has been given a general starting price of 3 to 1 and will definitely get the attention of the punters. The going has been described as good at Ffos Las and it will suit him more than others.
Wind Star made his debut in June 2006 and showed signs of competitiveness at the start of his career. Although, he finished sixth in his first race, yet this was not a bad result at all, as there were a total of 14 runners taking part in that event.
The Brendan Powell’s trainee kept on improving his performances with the passage of time and went onto win a couple of races in his debut season. However, he was unable to keep the momentum going and struggled throughout 2007.
Things improved for Piccolo’s son during the next year, as he managed to challenge his rivals for top positions with consistency. He won a single event that year and carried on his good form in the 2009 season as well, winning a couple of more races during
that time period.
However, 2010 did not prove to be a lucky year for the skilful runner and he had to skip the next season as well. Despite all that, he came back strongly this year and finished on top of the table in his most recent outing.
Wind Star will be partnered by talented jockey, Darren Egan, who has been delivering some good results with consistency. The two have come together for the very first time and their team will be hopeful of a positive result.
