Question:

Wind Surfing Board for Novice?

I am interested in starting wind surfing. I am quite experienced in dinghy sailing. I also teach sailing.

I have checked quite a few websites, and they suggest big boards over 10 feet.

I have found a board for sale for a good price with sails etc... And it is a Fanatic Wind Surfing Board 276cm long and 100Ltr.

I weigh 125 pounds, and i'm wondering if 100 ltr is enough for my weight. And if this board is too short for a novice like me. I don't plan on doing hardcore winds at the moment, just light wind sailing etc. It comes with a big sail (6.1m) and another smaller sail.

Also when buying a windsurf board. What should be the main things i should look out for (especially a used one). (sails, hull, fin, mast etc...)

  1. It seems perfect for you I suggest you get it.

Secondly I would just make sure it doesn't have any rips or cracks because that might cost you more

    Hope It Helps!!
