  1. Yes most everything in the world owes its existence to the sun... The plants we now burn in gasoline created those hydrocarbons using the sun's rays along with co2.

    Water evaporates with the sun, falls on land and uses gravity to find its way to the oceans.

    Wind blows because the sun heats up the land and the surrounding air, but the tumultous winds are also created by the rotation of the earth and the angle of earths rotation with respect to the sun.

    The only thing I see that isn't an indirect form of solar energy is nuclear power. But, we survived because of the sun and created nuclear power, lol so maybe it is.

  2. Accurate, but not precise.  The sun is the main driver on the worlds energy gradient. In other words, it performs the positive entropy for energy that is related to the sun on this world.

  3. Yes, and no. Uriah is right, but it's also not SOLAR energy. Hydroelectric (water)? yes. I dont know what they wind energy, but I know they use wind turbines.
