I can't find a website that will give me an equation for how much a Wind Turbine will cost with diameter of blades and height. I need one. I guess it doesn't need to be an equation but I need a chart that would tell me how much it costs per 100,000 kilowatts. Also I have found the dutch site that has an out of date chart from 1998, please do not link me to there.

  1. Cost per kW is a market decision made by your grid manager, not the turbine maker. It would be easier for you to look at the average time to recoup your investment- wind power is expensive! A good commercial- sized turbine should be able to pay for itself twice or more in its' service life, using the maintenance schedule provided by the manufacturer. Because you're dealing with uncertainties in terms of comparative energy cost, you've got some estimating to do.

Seems like a good but costly investment. The cost of electricity purchased from the grid certainly shouldn't decline too much, and you could potentially make some nice bank.

  2. The American Wind Energy Association provides a number of pages and links on the economics, costs and returns on the use of wind energy.

The AWEA website is impressive and well organized.

Endless Energy also has some good data on the costs, benefits and returns on using wind energy.  They are the second link below.  The only thing I worry about regarding the EEC numbers is that they don't attribute the information to a source.

  3. Start here, check out that you live in an area that will make your investment worth while first  under "wind resources".

Then just surf and follow links...
