  1. find an independent mechanic as it will be cheaper than a dealer to fix it.

  2. Take it to an auto electrician.. its their field of work and they would have done it S**t loads more than any dealership..also they may already have the part in stock if its a common model, and they would also have a schematic drawing or at least have a decent idea of the wiring arrangement...

  3. I would either take it to a dealer, or to a shop that is comfortable doing electrical work.

NOTE : don't tell them what you need.  ASK THEM TO CHECK IT !

You may not need a motor if the wiring is messed up.  You might have a broken wire, bad connection.  There is also the possibility that the switch is bad.

OH, and don't go for the junkyard stuff.  For a little more you get at least a rebuilt part.  I have a cousin who has several cars that he works on.  He buys most of his parts from the junkyard - and complains because he has to go through several parts often.

I just like to do one repair - and relax watching TV.  The ONLY time you go to the junkyard is when you absolutely cannot get a part through a parts store.

NEVER make the mistake of telling them what you need, cause whether you need it or not you will get it, along with whatever you really need.  Repair shops love it when people come in and tell them what they need for a repair.....it makes the sale larger.

  4. Any competent mechanic can fix that. If your going to do it yourself I recommend getting a used set up from the junk yard. You'll save a ton of cash and its just not that hard to do yourself anyhow.
