Window Vista Update problems?

My laptop-Compaq. Presario V3000.

anw the day when the problem happen is i click the shut up button with update. So my laptop just continue its update and promise would shut down after the updates are complete and it says"DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER". But the problem is.. i turn it off...

i mean my house got a blackout so my laptop just got no power and turn off before the update is complete. Then the next day i went to on the computer thinking it would be ok.

Then. the stupid laptop keeps on and off, on and off!!!!! it is lyk restarting repeatedly..and den it keeps saying

"CONFIGURING UPDATES: STAGE 3 OF 3-0% COMPLETE.

DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER"

DEN..

it says" shutting down" after a few seconds.

den it keeps restarting.

i tried finding solution in yahoo answers...i found similar question but none of it i understand. i cannot even go on desktop den how to go START menu? and how to start in safe mode? wad is safe mode? so wad if i go safe mode? how to make it ok? how to make to start normally?

plz help me....):

  1. Throw in a Vista disk

    Boot from it and choose repair installation


  2. try updating it continuously at least 3 times that has happened to me..

  3. you need to start up from the Vista Installation DVD - put this DVD in the laptop and try restarting. If it doesn't automatically boot from the dvd, you need to try again and just after startup, press the appropriate key to access the Boot Menu (it will say something on the bottom of the screen like "F9 for Boot Menu" but it will flash by very fast, if you can't find it try F9 or F12 on startup) when you get into the boot menu, select "boot from cd/dvd" or something similar. The installation DVD will give you options to do a system restore and other similar functions. one of these should solve your problem.
