Window or Aisle seat on a Plane?

I have a long flight next year, and i really like watching the world go by from a window seat... However i do like getting up every hour or so to bathroom/walk around. What seat do you recommend i book?

Also, as i am going to be traveling VERY light i am going on an expedition to Peru for a month, i wont be able to carry books, ipods, PSP's etc. as i can only afford to carry bare essentials on the plane, how can i pass the Time?

Thanks!

T.

  1. I'd imagine you'd get a seat that's fairly solitary on a long haul flight. I once read an article in a magazine that had advice for couples wanting to have s*x on a long haul flight in their seats without disturbing anyone.

  2. Emergency exit row or bulkhead row would be best, that way you get a window seat but you're still able to get up and walk around without disturbing the passengers next to you.

I don't know where you're coming from but I'd imagine it's an international flight for you and there's a good chance there will be personal TVs for each seat.

I find a crossword puzzle book useful - you can throw it away at the end of your journey but then if you're trekking you may want to keep it to pass the time in the evenings.

  3. I like aisle seats so I can come and go without bothering my fellow passengers. I can see out the window easier from the aisle because I am tall and it is difficult to bend over to see out the window when I am in a window seat.

As far as staying busy on long flights, I like to start 3 or 4 novels a few days before I leave then take the most interesting one with me.
