Window shows "remove color cartidge

Question

Window shows "remove color cartidge and check" On screen dialog box states " color cartidge in wrong. I have had the HP V40 series since 2002 and never had this problem before. I have followed the instructions and still get this message. It will print and copy for me. Have not had occassion to try fax nor use scanner.
