WindowXP administrator power

I am an administrator for my pc (obviously). My pc is using WindowsXP home. While I was using my school computers (which are macs) my teacher could actually see what we were doing on our screen. He was moving all the windows that I opened around and I am wondering if I can do the same at my own house network.

Also I would like to know how to check what other people in my network is doing. I have two PC but I only want one administrator that monitors all the accounts in my computers (i have 1 account in my good computer and 2 accounts in my side computer) So is there something like a program I can get that can monitor system activity?

My school is using this website blocking thing called websense. Is there a way to get that into my own computer network?

The main part of this question is how can I control what other users are doing on their screen without me hacking their IP

  1. Alright my friend. All you need is a VNC software like RealVNC.

You need to have the VNC server running on all the other PCs you would like to see and of course yours as well. Then just click on VNC viewer, type in the ip address of the station you would like to see, and viola,.. you could see their desktop on your pc in a big window. You can even control, trigger programs, and do whatever you can do as if anyone who is sitting at that station can do.

I believe RealVNC is a freely downloadable software.

    goodluck!

  2. 1. websense is a software package available for purchase or licensing:

    http://websense.com/global/en/

It can be somewhat complicated to set up on a home network, because it requires a hub (not a switch) with the websense server in-between your network and your gateway to the outside.

    2. the app your teacher is using is Apple Remote Desktop:

    http://www.apple.com/remotedesktop/

You have to set up the ARD client in the Preferences -> Sharing tab of each mac to be able to control it with ARD.

    3. You can share the screen on a windows machine by installing VNC on each machine you want to be able to control. VNC is a free/open source tool. From your machine, you'll have to use the vnc viewer and you'll need to know the IP of each machine you're going to view.

You need admin rights on the windows machine to install VNC, which is going to be prohibited at your work or school.
