Windows 2000 Professional, I have just spent 2 days updating a friends computer.?

Question

To find that it can not recognise her new Mobile phone or he Digital camera, is there an upgrade to remedy this without having to install XP, her old but very nice computer would not support Vista , the RAM and other components far too small.

Plug the devices into the usb first then run the set-up cd

If there are no drivers for them (Phone & camera) which I doubt, I would suggest looking at SE.  Drivers might be available for SE if you look.

Try installing drivers for the camera/mobile phone. They're usually included in the CD which is included in the whole package. If that doesn't work, try updating the drivers to the very latest version.

Windows2000 doesn't have as many built-in drivers as Win XP, so you will need the driver cd or DL it from the manufacturer's website.

You usually have to manually Add.remove hardware and then insert the cd/point windows at the drivers when it asks.
