Windows Automatic Updates?

My Automatic Updates began to turn off by itself a day ago, and it won't turn on when I tell it to in the Windows Security Browser. When I go to services.msc I find that the automatic updates service is disabled. I look at the properties of it, and then I select "Automatic" under the general tab. Afterwards, I select apply. The service is stil no started. I must select "start." While the service is being started, I get this error:

Could not start the Automatic Updates service on Local Computer. Error 1058: The service cannot e started, either because it is disabled or it has no enabled devices associated with it.

What do I do?
