Windows Defender keeps detecting something on my PC. Why won't it let me delete it?

Every single nite when I am online, my pc does a scan using Windows Defender. It finds the exact same thing every single nite.

severe/high alert level 1

Backdoor/Win32/Agent

It says it provides remote access to the computer it is installed on. It asks what action I would like to take, and of course, I delete it every nite. The very next nite, it detects it again. How can I get rid of it once and for all? I use McAfee antivirus software, which is generally really good at finding stuff. Why can't I permanently delete this thing?

  1. Backdoor/Win32/Agent - Backdoor trojan.

Very un-likely that Windows Defender can remove it.

Trojans love to hide in system restore where antivirus & antispyware programs cannot remove it - how do you know this is happening ? you remove it then when you re boot its back.

    What I would do.

    1. turn off system restore

    2. re boot in safe mode with networking

    3. do a free online scan:

    4. re boot if clean turn on system restore.

  2. It's better to uninstall Windows Defender, Cause most of the time it make fake alarm to upgrade the software to full version.

  3. u have to buy the full version to get it all deleted

  4. If other anti-virus programs fail.

    Try avast.

It is a very effective and free anti-virus program.
