Question:

Windows Installer Window Pops Up When I Try to Open Microsoft Excel...?

Microsoft Excel has been installed on my computer since I've owned it...part of the Microsoft Office package...I worked on it all day today...then when I tried to open Excel tonight, it brings up a little box saying Please Wait while Windows Configures Microsoft Office XP with FrontPage...then it wants a disk that I don't have. I went into the Office folder in the "Program Files" section on my hard drive and opened it from there, and it opened Excel, but still brought up the box wanting to install it. What happened, and what can I do to make it quit?

  1. Does it says something about Microsoft Publisher Configuration/Installation?

I've had that before for Microsoft Office XP...

Try to cancel the window when it pop-ups again and if Excel didn't open,

I suggest reinstall your Microsoft Office...

  3. I faced the same problem. All other Office software like Word, Powerpoint would normally. If i try to open Excel directly from the default Program Files\Microsoft Office folder i will not get that popup. I tried and tried but in the end i reinstalled MS-Office using the cd and it resolved the issue
