Windows Mail Help Please!?

Question

is there a way to make windows mail (vista) alert me when I have new email other than having to click on it and see for yourself.

I use windows mail, please do not recommend another client.

I don't have Vista, so this may not work.  But try Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices > Sounds and check Mail Notification.
