Windows Media Player 11 Media Sharing Randomly Disconnects...

Question

I have media sharing between my PC and my brother's PC. It works just fine most of the time but usually after a while my brother's PC loses the connection or stops working for some reason or another. It usually plays through a few songs, then stops at the end of some random song. When you open it back up from being minimized, my PC is no longer shown along the right panel. Sometimes this can be fixed by disallowing and re-allowing media sharing then opening WMA back up. Sometimes this does the trick but sometimes it doesn't.

Can anyone help me?

it looks like the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is stopping or having a problem... if it is stopping you can make sure that its startup type is automatic and under recovery make sure that first second and subsequent failures are all set to restart the service. make sure when it stops working that the service is running on the machine. if it is not crashing then something else is going on with the service and i would suggest reinstalling media player 11
