Windows Media Player won't pick up iPod?

Hey there!! I'm really excited because I just got an iPod. But when I connected it to the computer, it didn't show up on the Windows Media Player. I wanted to Sync some songs to it from a CD, but it still said to connect a device. What's wrong?

only i tunes but if u burn the songs onto a cd then use the cd in windows media it will work =]

ipod's only work with itunes, which you can now download from apple.com.

I am having the same trouble but when I asked ...I was told I had to go through itunes...I am keeping an eye on your question and hoping you get more help...Thanks for asking..at least you got one point back with my star...GOOD LUCK!
