I put a video in and hers the message....

C:\Documents and Settings\Tristan Stewart\Desktop\413WF.avi could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box.And I put the K-Lite package & Xvid! Still same message. What do I do?

  1. download the codecs

    go to download.com dude

  2. i think what you need is this converter:

    http://www.vidtomp3.com/

  3. Everytime I reformat my computer, I install the following codec:

It's free plus easy to install.  I'd recommend the Advanced Codec so you get everything you need.

Google search for "Cole2k" or go to www.cole2k.net

On the left side of the website, there's a frame called "Codec Packs" and it has three different options to click:  Advanced, Standard, and Silent Install.

Select Advanced and follow the instructions.

    Should be golden after that!

  4. If the video was recorded with fraps I would suggest installing fraps since it has a codec to play the video. http://www.fraps.com/

  5. Try to convert it to other formats.

  6. Yeah, that's happened to me. I dont get it. I can only hear the sound sometimes and not the video.
