Question:

Windows Restart Problem

Hello!I'm having a strange problem lately. When I boot my PC, during loading Windows XP it restarts the first few times until it finally gets into Windows. Then the system is really unstable! I mean it would either stop responding, me not being able to even move the mouse pointer and therefore I am being forced to push the reset button on my case, or it would just automatically restart because of a critical stop error. Most often it is MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION, but sometimes there are other signs also. I tried replacing all of my RAM chips so as to check if the problem is faulty RAM, but there was no result. The system was still unstable.I tried removing all components (LAN Cards, CD ROM-s, etc.) and left my system with only the video card plugged in my motherboard (no peripherial PCI devices) and it still did the problem. It also did it when I changed to an older Windows version (I tried ME, 2000, 98). All of them did the same thing - restarted a few times until they finally logged into Windows and then stayed unstable. I am having the feeling that the longer the system goes, the more stable it gets. But after I leave it Power-off for a while and start it again - Windows again needs to restart a few times in order to boot. My configuration is:Motherboard : Gigabyte 7ZXECPU : AMD Duron 900MhzSound Card : AC97 Chip on the MotherboardVideo Card : AGP GeForce 2 MX400 64MB, TV OutRAM : 64+128+256 = 448MB2xLAN Cards RealtekTV Tuner FlyVideo 98HP CD-ROM/R/RWI have absolutely no idea what the cause might be. So please help! I would appreciate it guys...Thank you very much in advance!
